Milan Winter Olympics - Practical Session

This focused training session is designed to prepare security professionals for the safe and effective operation of Rapiscan’s advanced screening systems during the 2026 Winter Olympics. Participants will gain hands-on experience and practical knowledge to ensure smooth, secure operations across all Olympic venues. Through comprehensive instruction and hands-on demonstrations, attendees will gain operational expertise on the Rapiscan 927DX, 620XRh, Metor® 28e and Metor® 9M.

Description

Upon completion, attendees will be certified to operate all listed Rapiscan systems, ensuring they are fully prepared to support the safety and efficiency of the 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the session, attendees will be certified to operate Rapiscan equipment across all designated Olympic venues, contributing to a safe and secure environment for athletes, staff, and spectators.

Training Coverage by Equipment

Rapiscan 927DX & 620XRh 

Participants will learn to:

  • Conduct a Health & Safety walk-around
  • Start up the X-ray system and log in
  • Scan bags effectively, including;
    • Mastering conveyor control
    • Utilising image enhancements
    • Activating and rectifying emergency stops (E-Stops)
  • Understand and apply Standard Test Procedures (STP)
  • Log off and power down safely

 

Metor® 28e 

Training includes:

  • Turning the unit on and off
  • Operating the system, including:
    • Understanding how sensitivity varies with distance
    • Navigating different detection modes
    • Interpreting indicator lights
  • Adjusting settings for optimal performance
  • Charging procedures

 

Metor® 9M 

Participants will be trained to:

  • Power on and off the unit
  • Operate effectively with emphasis on:
  • Recognising and responding to zonal alarms
  • Managing spacing between individuals
  • Addressing accidental knocks
  • Interpreting alarm intensity levels
